IDReC Director discusses waterborne zoonoses

IDReC Director Professor Nigel French is presenting at the General Practice Conference and Medical Exhibition this week, held in Rotorua. Professor French will run two workshops and give a presentation entitled “Waterborne Zoonoses in New Zealand”.

The talk examine when, where and how we come into contact with waterborne pathogens, and the role played by zoonotic transmission from farmed livestock and wildlife.

The two workshops are:

"Zoonotic Mischief From Cattle” – discussing the latest research into the epidemiology of cattle-associated infections in New Zealand.

“What You Can Catch from Your Pets” discussing how veterinary and medical practitioners recognise and manage both common and rare pet-borne zoonoses.
