OUR STRUCTURE

IDReC is a virtual centre that is hosted by the School of Veterinary Science (SoVS) on the Palmerston North campus of Massey University, but that draws on the considerable strength in infectious disease research in Massey Institutes in Albany and Wellington.

Associate Professor David Hayman is the Director of IDReC and he heads a team of four other Principal Investigators. The Director and the Principal Investigators are part of the Steering Group for the Centre along with Professor Frazer Allan, Head of School and Dean at University of Sydney, Chris Wood an independent consultant in accountancy, and Graeme Mitchell the Business Services Manager at Massey. The Associate Investigators are involved on a project by project basis.

Alongside the IDReC team we have a Scientific Advisory Group that comprises four preeminent experts of international renown, who each represent a different discipline within infectious disease research. Their roles are to help to provide external input and expertise into IDReC research and to act as international champions for the Centre. The members of this group are invited to visit New Zealand to present keynote papers at IDReC's research symposiums, and to attend research meetings in person or via videoconference.
